How T-Bone Crashes Can Cause Injuries
T-bone crashes happen when the front of one vehicle hits the side of another. These crashes often occur at intersections, driveways, or when crossing roads. Even at lower speeds, the side of a vehicle may offer less protection than the front or rear, causing then, major injuries.
Injuries can depend on where the vehicle was hit and where each person was seated. Side impacts may affect the head, neck, shoulders, ribs, or hips. Airbags and the use of seatbelts can reduce harm, but some injuries may still need medical care.
Cleanup can take time after a side-impact crash. Damaged vehicles may block lanes, and debris can create hazards for passing traffic. Crews often reduce traffic flow until the roadway is safe again.
