Sioux City, IA (July 5, 2026) – A bicyclist was left with life-threatening injuries after a collision involving an SUV on Friday morning in downtown Sioux City. Deputies arrived at the location, the intersection of 4th Street and Douglas Street, around 11:15 a.m., following reports of a serious crash.
According to the Sioux City Police Department, a man riding a bicycle northbound on Douglas Street collided with an SUV that was also traveling north at the time of the incident. The cyclist was transported to UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s Downtown for treatment of injuries believed to be life-threatening and remains hospitalized as of Saturday, July 4.
Officials said the SUV driver was uninjured and remained at the scene during the investigation. Neither individual involved has been publicly identified. Our thoughts are with the injured cyclist.
