Morgan County, MO (July 5, 2026) – Four people were hurt in a head-on crash on Missouri Route 5 near Route J late on Friday night, July 3. The collision was reported at 11:42 p.m.
A 2018 Jeep Renegade driven by a 32-year-old Jefferson City woman attempted to turn from Route J onto MO-5 northbound but failed to yield to a southbound 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 30-year-old Gravois Mills man. The Silverado driver swerved into the northbound lanes to avoid the Jeep, striking it head-on just as it had nearly completed the turn.
All four people in the Jeep were taken to Lake Regional Hospital. The driver, a 32-year-old woman, and a 30-year-old female passenger both sustained moderate injuries. A 4-year-old boy and another female occupant of unknown age both sustained minor injuries. The Silverado driver was not hurt in the wreck.
Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. The crash remains under active investigation. We hope all four people hurt make full recoveries.
