Dallas Co, AL (January 16, 2026) – A fatal two-vehicle crash on Alabama Highway 140 claimed the life of a Selma man on January 13, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The collision occurred around 6:20 p.m. near the 8-mile marker on AL-140, approximately eight miles east of Selma. Investigators said a 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage was involved in a crash with a 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer at that location.
Authorities identified the driver of the Mitsubishi as 66-year-old Marcus E. Hunter of Selma. ALEA officials confirmed that Hunter was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The tractor-trailer was reportedly being operated by a 35-year-old man from Linden. No information has been released regarding injuries to the truck driver.
The roadway was impacted while emergency personnel and investigators worked at the scene. Alabama State Troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision. At this time, the cause of the crash has not been determined, and no additional details have been made public.
