How Chain-Reaction Crashes Happen at Busy Intersections
Chain-reaction crashes often begin with a single impact that pushes one vehicle into others. These accidents are more common at intersections where traffic slows, stops, or changes lanes quickly. When a driver fails to reduce speed in time, even a brief delay can trigger multiple collisions.
Rear-end impacts are a frequent starting point. Once a vehicle is struck from behind, it may move forward uncontrollably into nearby traffic. The number of vehicles involved can increase within seconds, especially during busy afternoon travel periods.
In many cases, minor injuries such as neck or back pain are reported after these crashes. Vehicle damage can also vary widely depending on speed and positioning at the time of impact.
