Manchester, CT (July 26, 2026) – A 21-year-old Manchester woman was killed on Friday night, July 24, after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 384 East near the Exit 1B on-ramp in Manchester. The collision was reported around 10:23 p.m.

According to state police, a motorcycle struck the rear of a Chevrolet Equinox traveling in the right-center lane. The impact separated both riders from the motorcycle, causing them to slide across the highway. The motorcycle passenger, identified as 21-year-old Sariah Isabelle Miranda of Manchester, was struck by a BMW traveling in an adjacent lane. She was taken to Manchester Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The motorcycle operator, 22-year-old Dante Avant Coleman of Manchester, suffered suspected minor injuries and was also transported to Manchester Hospital. The drivers of the Chevrolet and BMW were uninjured and did not require treatment. The incident is actively being investigated by officials.

Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the deceased.

What Factors Are Reviewed After a Fatal Motorcycle Crash?

Fatal motorcycle crashes are reviewed by examining vehicle movements, roadway conditions, and the sequence of events leading up to the collision. Investigators may review damage patterns, lane positions, and other evidence from the scene.

Motorcycles provide less protection than passenger vehicles, which can increase the severity of injuries during a crash. Awareness between drivers and riders, maintaining safe distances, and paying attention to surrounding traffic can help reduce the risk of serious collisions.
