Oakland Township, MI (July 25, 2026) – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a fatal morning collision that killed a 65-year-old Rochester Hills man and left two women critically injured. The collision happened shortly after 5:45 a.m. on Rochester Road near Buell Road in Oakland Township on Friday morning.
The man was driving a 2022 Ford Escape northbound on Rochester Road when the vehicle crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. The Ford struck a southbound 2025 Subaru Outback head-on. The driver of the Subaru, a 49-year-old woman from Imlay City, suffered serious injuries. Her passenger, a 56-year-old woman from Almont, was also critically injured. Both women were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Rochester Hills man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators do not believe the crash was caused by a medical emergency, though an autopsy will be conducted by the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office.
