Casselberry, FL (July 9, 2026) – Two people lost their lives on Tuesday, July 7, in a crash on US 17-92 near Sunnytown Road after an alleged fleeing suspect collided with another vehicle.
The victims were identified as 42-year-old Christopher Marier and 40-year-old Tyler M. Marier. According to officials, the crash happened shortly after a Seminole County Sheriff’s Office attempt to stop a vehicle suspected in a drug trafficking investigation. The driver, identified as 26-year-old Marquavious Tayvon Wheaton, allegedly failed to stop and left the area.
Officials said Wheaton was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph at times before the crash occurred on US 17-92. The collision caused one vehicle to catch fire, and debris was scattered across the intersection. Wheaton was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Casselberry police are investigating the crash, while the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office is reviewing the events leading up to the collision.
