Denver, CO (April 5, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 25 near East 58th Avenue left one person dead and several others injured.
The crash occurred overnight on Friday, April 3, when a 2020 Chevrolet Trax struck a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander. Emergency crews transported one Trax occupant, a 30-year-old man, to a local hospital, where he later died.
The other Trax occupant, a 20-year-old man, was also hospitalized and remains in serious condition. The Outlander driver, a 49-year-old man, was uninjured. The Mercedes-Benz driver, 27, was taken to a hospital, though the extent of injuries has not been reported.
Northbound Interstate 25 was closed for several hours while responders cleared the scene, but the roadway has since reopened. Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and more details will be released as they become available.
Our condolences go out to the family of the deceased.
Understanding the Risks of Multi-Vehicle Highway Collisions
Highway multi-vehicle collisions can escalate quickly, especially when vehicles are traveling at high speeds or when occupants are outside their vehicles. Secondary impacts, like the collision involving the Mercedes-Benz, often increase the severity of injuries.
Prompt emergency response, proper lane management, and awareness of surrounding traffic are crucial in reducing further harm. Vehicle occupants are encouraged to remain inside their vehicles whenever possible after a crash until first responders arrive, to ensure safety.
