Detroit, MI (January 8, 2026) – Several individuals suffered injuries following a multi-vehicle collision on southbound I-75 near Clay St in Detroit on Wednesday afternoon. The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m., prompting a significant emergency response involving multiple fire and EMS units.
At least three vehicles were reportedly involved in the collision, with early reports indicating that multiple people were hurt. One individual experienced breathing difficulties at the scene, which elevated the urgency of the response. Crews from Detroit Fire and EMS, including medical responders and fire suppression teams, arrived quickly to assist the victims and assess the severity of the crash.
Although the primary focus was the I-75 incident near Clay St, officials also responded to a separate, unrelated vehicle fire nearby. That fire was contained and extinguished, with no indication of connection to the crash.
