How House Fires Can Spread Quickly Inside Residential Homes
House fires can spread rapidly, especially when they begin in enclosed spaces like bedrooms. Furniture, bedding, and other materials can ignite quickly, allowing flames to spread within minutes. Smoke can also fill rooms fast, making it difficult for people inside to breathe or escape safely.
Smoke inhalation is one of the most serious risks during a fire. Breathing in smoke can reduce oxygen levels in the body and cause severe health problems. Even brief exposure can result in serious injury.
Working smoke alarms can alert people early, giving them more time to exit safely. Keeping exits clear and having an escape plan can also help reduce harm during a residential fire.
