Why Overnight Pedestrian Crashes Can Be Especially Dangerous
Crashes involving pedestrians during overnight hours often occur in low-visibility conditions, making it harder for drivers to see people near or crossing the roadway. Reduced lighting, fatigue, and higher vehicle speeds can further increase the risk of severe injuries.
Investigators typically examine roadway lighting, traffic patterns, and driver awareness to determine how these incidents occur and whether safety improvements could help prevent similar crashes in the future.
