Why Commercial Truck Crashes on Interstates Can Be Especially Severe
Crashes involving commercial transport trucks can lead to serious damage due to their size and weight. Larger vehicles exert greater force during impact, increasing the risk of severe injuries. Passenger vehicles involved in these crashes often experience more damage.
Interstate highways also allow higher speeds, which can make collisions more dangerous. Drivers may have less time to react to sudden changes in traffic. Heavy traffic during morning hours can increase the chance of multi-vehicle crashes.
Cleanup and recovery efforts may take longer when large trucks are involved. Crews must safely remove damaged vehicles and clear debris before reopening all lanes.
