Turning Collisions at Intersections Can Be Especially Dangerous
Crashes involving turning vehicles are among the most common and often severe types of intersection accidents. These incidents frequently occur when one driver misjudges the speed or distance of oncoming traffic while attempting a turn.
Intersections require heightened awareness from all drivers, as multiple directions of travel converge in a confined space. Even a brief lapse in judgment can result in devastating consequences, particularly when vehicles collide at moderate to high speeds.
In many cases, limited visibility, roadway design, or failure to yield the right-of-way can contribute to these crashes. Drivers are encouraged to approach intersections cautiously and ensure it is safe before making any turning movements.
