New Albany, IN (August 19, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to the 300 block of Mt. Tabor Road in New Albany on Monday morning, August 17, after a two-vehicle collision was reported. One driver later died as a result of the collision.
One of the vehicles overturned onto its side, leaving the driver trapped inside. First responder personnel extricated the driver from the vehicle before the patients were taken to a local hospital. Reports stated the driver of the overturned vehicle appeared to have experienced a medical emergency before the crash.
They indicated that the medical issue may have contributed to the accident. At the time of the initial report, all patients were listed as stable. This is a developing story, and the fatal incident remains under review.
