Sunnyside, WA (July 4, 2026) – Two men were injured on Thursday evening, July 2, in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 241 (Sunnyside-Mabton Highway) at Duffy Road near Sunnyside. Emergency crews responded around 6:15 p.m. after reports of a serious collision involving a suspected DUI driver.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a gold 2004 Chrysler Town & Country minivan was turning westbound onto Duffy Road when it was struck by a red 2004 Dodge Durango traveling northbound. Investigators said the Durango attempted to pass in a designated no-passing zone before the impact occurred.
Officials confirmed that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. Both drivers were injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment.
