Salt Lake City, UT (July 9, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision was reported early on Tuesday at 5600 W and 700 S in Salt Lake City, Utah. The collision occurred around 1:15 a.m. when one vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed, made a left turn and struck another vehicle.
The driver of the turning vehicle was critically injured and taken to a hospital, where the person is expected to survive. That driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Three people in the second vehicle were also taken to a hospital with minor injuries. One vehicle struck a power box during the accident, causing a temporary power outage while cleanup work was underway.
