Brunswick, ME (July 9, 2026) – A woman was killed after being hit by an Amtrak Downeaster train on Tuesday near Bibber Pkwy in Brunswick, Maine. The accident was reported around 3:15 p.m. near the railroad tracks as the train approached Brunswick Station.
The woman was found dead on the tracks, and her identity was not released. Investigators determined she had parked a vehicle at a nearby parking lot before walking to the tracks.
Eighteen passengers and the train crew were on board, and no injuries were reported among them. The tracks were closed for about two hours while the investigation continued.
