Ellicott City, MD (July 2, 2026) – A young girl lost her life after falling from her bicycle into the path of a dump truck on Daniels Rd in Ellicott City.
The fatal crash happened at about 1:55 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, in the 2000 block of Daniels Rd. According to the police, the child was riding her bicycle in the roadway when she fell into the path of a 2004 Sterling LT9500 dump truck. She was pronounced dead where she came to rest.
The dump truck driver was not hurt and stayed at the site while emergency units worked and investigators examined the roadway. Daniels Rd remained closed Tuesday afternoon as crews documented what had happened.
The girl’s identity has not yet been released, and no additional information about the fatal accident has been made public at the time of this report.
Detectives are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatality and are expected to release more information as it becomes available.
