How Left-Turn Crashes Involve Motorcycles
Crashes involving left turns often happen when a driver misjudges the speed or distance of an oncoming motorcycle. Motorcycles can appear smaller and may be harder to see, especially at night or in busy areas. When a vehicle turns across traffic, it can cross directly into the rider’s path.
These types of crashes can lead to serious outcomes because riders have less protection than those in larger vehicles. Even with safety gear, the force of impact can be severe. Road conditions, visibility, and timing all affect how these collisions occur. Drivers and riders both rely on clear visibility and careful timing at intersections.
