Chandler, AZ (July 8, 2026) – One person lost their life in a two-vehicle wreck early on Monday on Loop 202 Santan near Loop 101 in Chandler.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. The roadway remained closed for most of the morning as emergency units worked at the site and investigators documented the roadway before reopening it to traffic.
The deceased was identified as Oscar Taco Romero of Ecuador. No information was released regarding the second vehicle or whether anyone else was hurt.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal wreck. We extend our deepest condolences to Oscar Taco Romero’s family, friends, and loved ones.
