Why Motorcycle Crashes on Highways Can Be Severe
Motorcycle crashes on highways can cause fatal injuries because riders have limited protection during impact. A collision with a passenger vehicle can throw a rider from the motorcycle or cause severe trauma.
Highway intersections can add risk when vehicles enter, turn, or cross traffic. Traffic speed, visibility, lane position, and the point of impact can all affect how serious the crash becomes.
After a motorcycle crash, medical teams often check for head injuries, broken bones, chest trauma, and internal injuries. Road closures or traffic control may also be needed while emergency units treat injured people and clear damaged vehicles from the area.
