Elkton, MD (January 26, 2026) – A serious residential fire early on Monday in the unit block of Weed Lane left four people injured and prompted an extensive emergency response, including multiple EMS units and a Tanker Task Force.
Crews arrived to find fire showing from the structure, and one patient was already reported at the scene. As the situation escalated, additional medical units were requested. A total of four individuals were transported for treatment: one patient was taken to Bayview Medical Center, while three others were transported to Union Hospital.
The incident occurred during freezing conditions, requiring a large-diameter hose (LDH) burst operation and assistance from County Roads, who were asked to expedite plow truck support to ensure safe access for emergency vehicles.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and local authorities continue to investigate the scene.
