Elkton, MD (January 26, 2026) – Two people were injured early on Monday morning in a residential fire that broke out in the unit block of Thyme Street in Elkton, prompting an extensive emergency response.
Fire crews arrived at the scene to find heavy flames coming from the second floor of the home. Initial reports indicated that two civilians were trapped upstairs. Firefighters quickly initiated rescue operations and were able to remove both individuals from the structure.
A child was transported to AI DuPont Hospital for further care, while an adult victim was taken to Bayview Medical Center. Both were injured in the fire, though their current conditions have not been released.
This incident was one of two overnight fires reported in the Elkton area. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze and have not yet provided additional details regarding the second fire.
