Evansville, IN (January 29, 2026) – A head-on crash in the northbound lanes of Riverside Dr near Bally’s Casino left at least one person injured on January 28. Emergency crews from the Evansville Fire Department and Police Department responded to the scene following reports of a vehicle traveling the wrong way.
The collision occurred near 421 NW Riverside Dr and involved two vehicles—one of which had entered the oncoming lanes, leading to the crash. Injuries were reported, although officials have not released details on how many people were hurt or the severity of the injuries.
Traffic was impacted while responders managed the scene and evaluated those involved. Engine 3 was among the units dispatched to assist with patient care and ensure roadway safety.
An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether impairment or other factors were involved.
