Moniteau Co., MO (July 8, 2026) – A woman was seriously injured on Tuesday evening, July 7, in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 50 at Route H in Moniteau County. The accident was reported at about 8:55 p.m.
The crash involved a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a 2026 Peterbilt 579. Both vehicles were traveling west on U.S. 50 before the collision.
According to the report, the Peterbilt was attempting to pass as the Chrysler was turning left. The vehicles then collided, and the Chrysler was totaled.
The Chrysler driver, a 52-year-old California, Missouri woman, was flown to University Hospital with serious injuries. The Peterbilt driver, a 57-year-old Columbia man, was not listed as injured. Authorities continue reviewing the details from the U.S. 50 crash report.
