How Vehicle Repair Accidents Can Happen
Vehicle maintenance can sometimes lead to serious injuries if proper support equipment is not used. When a vehicle is lifted for repairs, it must remain stable for the entire time someone is working beneath or beside it.
Mechanical jacks are often used to raise vehicles, but they are generally designed for lifting rather than long-term support. Jack stands or other stabilization tools are commonly used to keep the vehicle securely elevated.
If a vehicle shifts, slips, or loses support, it can fall suddenly. The weight of a passenger vehicle can cause severe harm if it lands on someone working nearby.
