Dauphin County, PA (July 23, 2026) – One person lost their life in a multi-vehicle collision on I-81 northbound in Dauphin County on July 21. The fatal crash happened around 10 a.m. near mile marker 70.5, where emergency units remained on the roadway while assisting those involved.
The right lane of I-81 north was blocked as traffic was directed around the site, causing backups stretching several miles through Dauphin County. The number of vehicles involved has not yet been released.
Officials have not shared additional details about what led to the collision or whether anyone else was hurt. The investigation into what happened is continuing, and more information is expected as it becomes available.
