Hattiesburg, MS (July 27, 2026) – One person died after a rear-end collision on the 6900 block of US Highway 49 in Hattiesburg on Saturday afternoon, July 25. Emergency units responded to the scene at approximately 1:27 p.m. after receiving reports of the collision.
According to officials, one vehicle struck the rear of another as traffic slowed because of a separate crash in the area. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
