Findlay, OH (May 9, 2026) – One man was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after a crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle near an Interstate 75 exit ramp in Findlay.
According to Findlay police, the collision occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of West Trenton Avenue and the northbound I-75 exit ramp.
Investigators said a 2016 Freightliner semi-truck driven by a 58-year-old woman from Springfield, Tennessee, was traveling on the exit ramp when the driver attempted to stop for a red light but failed to do so. The semi then collided with a 2022 Hyundai being driven by a 49-year-old Findlay man on West Trenton Avenue.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the Hyundai driver to Blanchard Valley Hospital for evaluation.
Authorities said the semi-truck driver was cited for disregarding traffic control devices. Findlay Fire Department and Hanco EMS assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the injured driver and his family.
Semi-Truck Intersection Crash Hazards
Collisions involving semi-trucks at intersections and exit ramps can cause serious injuries due to the size and weight of commercial vehicles. Failure to stop at traffic signals or maintain proper braking distance can significantly increase the severity of crashes involving smaller passenger vehicles.
Transportation officials encourage all drivers, especially commercial operators, to remain attentive in high-traffic areas and approach intersections cautiously to help prevent injury collisions.
