What Factors Can Lead to Crashes at Controlled Intersections?
Crashes at intersections often happen when traffic signals or right-of-way rules are not followed. Running a red light can place vehicles directly in the path of crossing traffic, leading to sudden and forceful impacts.
Even when roads are designed to control traffic flow, driver behavior can still affect safety. Delayed reactions, distractions, or misjudging signal timing can all contribute to these types of collisions.
Vehicle condition and compliance with regulations can also affect outcomes. Issues like expired registration or lack of insurance do not directly cause crashes but may reflect broader concerns about vehicle use and driver responsibility.
