Why Emergency Vehicle Accidents Receive Detailed Review
Emergency vehicles face unique risks because they often travel quickly while responding to urgent calls. When an emergency vehicle is involved in a traffic accident, investigators typically examine vehicle movements, roadway conditions, traffic controls, and witness accounts to determine what occurred. They may also review whether emergency warning equipment, such as lights and sirens, was in use.
Rollovers can increase the risk of serious injuries due to the forces involved, leading to a thorough medical evaluation among those affected. Information gathered during these reviews helps improve roadway safety and may contribute to future training and operational practices for emergency vehicle drivers.
