Why Delivery Van Crashes Can Create Additional Roadway Hazards
Delivery vans spend long hours on city streets and frequently make stops in busy traffic environments. Because these vehicles often carry large amounts of cargo, a crash can create additional challenges when packages shift or spill during the collision.
Rollovers are particularly concerning because they may increase the likelihood of occupant injuries and roadway blockages. In urban areas, intersections can be high-risk locations due to traffic signals, turning vehicles, and varying traffic volumes. Following a commercial vehicle crash, crews often work to secure cargo, remove damaged vehicles, and restore traffic flow. Investigators may review factors such as vehicle speed, right-of-way, road conditions, and driver actions when examining how a collision occurred.
