What Can Cause Serious Head-on Crashes?
Head-on crashes can result in severe injuries because vehicles traveling in opposite directions meet with substantial force. Common factors reviewed after this type of accident include vehicle positions, roadway conditions, visibility, and statements from witnesses.
The condition of each vehicle may also provide useful information. Damage patterns can help show the direction of travel and where the vehicles made contact. Investigators may also examine photographs, roadway markings, and other available records.
When children are involved, medical care may vary based on their age and the nature of their injuries. Hospital records can later provide information about the treatment required and the progress of those hurt.
