Why Rollover Crashes Can Result in Multiple Injuries
Rollover crashes can expose vehicle occupants to powerful forces as a vehicle overturns one or more times. These incidents may involve roof damage, shattered glass, or people becoming trapped inside the vehicle, making rescue efforts more challenging.
Emergency crews first work to stabilize the vehicle before safely removing anyone who is trapped. Medical teams assess each patient for injuries that may not be immediately visible and determine whether hospital care is needed. Investigators later examine factors such as vehicle damage, roadway conditions, tire marks, and the final position of the vehicle to better understand how the rollover occurred.
