What Injuries Can Occur During a Turning Collision?

Turning collisions can happen when a vehicle crosses into the path of another vehicle. The forces involved may cause occupants to experience sudden movement, even when both vehicles are traveling at moderate speeds.

Common injuries include bruises, cuts, broken bones, neck strain, and back pain. Children can require special attention because their size and seating position differ from those of adults.

Proper seat belt use helps keep occupants securely positioned during a collision. Children should also ride in age- and size-appropriate car seats or booster seats when required.

Drivers making turns should check the surrounding lanes carefully before changing direction. Maintaining awareness of nearby traffic can provide additional time to avoid a dangerous crossing path.
