Chicago, IL (July 16, 2026) – Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on the Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago early on Thursday morning, July 16.
According to the Chicago Fire Department, the crash involved at least four vehicles just past Ashland Avenue. At least one vehicle caught fire following the collision, prompting an emergency response to the scene.
Four people were transported to local hospitals. Officials said two patients were listed in critical condition, while another sustained serious injuries. No additional information about the fourth injured person or the identities of those involved was immediately released.
The roadway was temporarily affected while crews assisted the injured, extinguished the vehicle fire, and cleared the scene. All lanes have since reopened. Authorities continue investigating the cause of the collision.
