White Oak Springs, WI (May 31, 2026) – Four people were hurt in a three-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon at the intersection of County Highway W and County Highway O in White Oak Springs.
According to reports, the collision happened around 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 30. Investigators said a 46-year-old Chicago woman was driving a 2025 Chrysler westbound on County Highway W when she failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection.
The Chrysler struck a 2018 Ford driven by a 58-year-old man from Apple River, Illinois. The force of the collision then pushed the Chrysler into a stationary 2024 Buick that was stopped at an eastbound stop sign. The Buick was driven by a 75-year-old Apple River woman.
The Chicago driver and her two female child passengers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Ford driver was also hospitalized with minor injuries. The woman driving the Buick was not hurt.
Additional details about the accident had not been made public as of this report. Investigators are continuing to examine the factors that led to the collision. We send our best wishes to those recovering from their injuries.
What Happens When Multiple Vehicles Are Involved in an Intersection Collision?
When several vehicles are involved in an intersection collision, investigators often work to determine the sequence of impacts and how each vehicle contributed to the chain of events. This process may include reviewing vehicle positions, roadway markings, witness statements, and physical evidence from the roadway.
Intersections can present unique challenges because drivers must monitor traffic from multiple directions while following traffic control devices. A missed stop sign, failure to yield, or misjudgment of another vehicle’s speed can quickly lead to a chain-reaction sequence involving more than one vehicle.
Medical evaluations are also common after these crashes because some injuries may not be immediately apparent. Even when damage appears limited, occupants may experience symptoms hours later. Reviewing all available information helps provide a clearer picture of how the roadway accident unfolded and the extent of the injuries involved.
