San Benito County, CA (July 17, 2026) – A four-vehicle accident involving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, a white Chevrolet, a Toyota RAV4, and an Acura was reported Friday morning on northbound SR-25 just north of SR-156.

The collision was reported at approximately 6:09 a.m. Dispatch information indicated the reporting party’s Chevrolet Silverado was involved in a collision with three other vehicles after the Toyota RAV4 was reportedly rear-ended by an unidentified vehicle, possibly a beige SUV. The Toyota and other vehicles came to rest on the shoulder, while the Silverado was positioned on the right side of the roadway.

The reporting party and their mother remained inside the Toyota immediately after the collision, and the extent of injuries to those involved was not known at the time. The identities of the people involved were not released.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, and additional information may be released as it becomes available. We hope anyone hurt in the crash makes a full recovery.

Why Multi-Vehicle Crashes Tend to Require More Time to Investigate

Collisions involving several vehicles can be more complex because investigators must determine the sequence of contact between each vehicle. They may review roadway evidence, vehicle damage, and statements from those involved to establish how the chain of events unfolded.

When one vehicle is reported to have struck another from behind, investigators also consider how that initial contact may have contributed to later impacts involving additional vehicles. Traffic conditions, following distance, visibility, and driver reactions are among the factors commonly reviewed during these examinations.
