Irvine, CA (July 17, 2026) – A hit-and-run accident involving injuries was reported on Thursday morning on the southbound I-5 just north of Bake Parkway in Irvine.
The collision was reported at approximately 5:14 a.m. Initial dispatch information indicated that the vehicles were stopped at the center divider before being moved to the right shoulder. Subsequent updates referenced a black Mercedes-Benz SUV and a white Honda Accord at the gore point near Sand Canyon.
Early reports suggested the case involved only property damage, but the classification was later upgraded to a hit-and-run involving injuries. The number of people hurt, and the identities of those involved, were not immediately released.
