How Overcorrection Can Lead to Rollover Crashes
Rollover crashes can occur when a driver attempts to quickly steer back onto the roadway after drifting off. Sudden movements may cause the vehicle to lose balance.
When a vehicle crosses uneven ground or strikes a guardrail, it can increase the chance of overturning. The height and design of SUVs can also affect stability during sharp corrections.
Speed, road conditions, and driver reaction all play a role in these crashes. Once a vehicle begins to roll, it can be difficult to control its movement.
