What Factors Are Reviewed in Failure-to-Yield Crashes in Missouri?
Failure-to-yield crashes in Missouri often occur at rural intersections where sight lines may be limited or traffic patterns are less predictable. When a driver turns left across oncoming traffic without yielding, the resulting collision can be sudden and leave little time for the other driver to react. These types of crashes tend to produce a wide range of injury severity, depending on speed and vehicle size.
In Missouri, crash reports typically document which driver had the right of way and what traffic controls, if any, were present at the intersection. The size difference between vehicles involved can also factor into how injuries are distributed among the occupants. Passengers in smaller vehicles are often at greater risk when struck by larger trucks or SUVs.
