Fresno County, CA (February 1, 2026) – An accident involving two vehicles resulted in serious injuries Friday afternoon on State Route 168 near Indian Camp Road, just west of Prather, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:10 PM on January 31 in the westbound lanes of SR-168. Authorities confirmed that the incident involved a blue Ford Mustang and a Ford SUV. The vehicles reportedly collided under circumstances that are still under investigation, leaving both disabled in the roadway.
First responders, including medics and fire personnel, were dispatched to the scene to assist the injured. Emergency crews found at least one person trapped inside the Mustang and worked to extricate the individual safely. Paramedics treated one patient for major injuries at the scene. No fatalities were reported.
Due to the severity of the collision, State Route 168 was temporarily closed in both directions, causing significant traffic delays in the Prather area. The road was later reopened to one lane as crews worked to clear the scene and investigators began collecting evidence.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the crash, and it is unknown whether speed, distraction, or other factors played a role. The investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the injured individual, and we wish them a full and swift recovery.
