Why Intersection Crashes Often Cause Traffic Disruptions
Crashes at busy intersections can quickly affect traffic flow due to limited maneuvering space and the need for multiple agencies to respond. Scene stabilization, vehicle removal, and safety checks are often required before traffic can safely resume.
Even when injuries are not immediately confirmed, responders must take precautions to protect motorists and emergency personnel, which can result in temporary delays until conditions are deemed safe.
