Gates, NY (January 26, 2026) – Emergency crews responded on Sunday night to a serious motor vehicle accident involving entrapment on the west side of Gates, where multiple agencies worked to rescue individuals trapped inside a vehicle.
The crash occurred on January 25 at approximately 8:40 p.m. at 72 W Garden Dr. Initial reports indicated that at least one person was trapped in the wreckage following the collision. Firefighters and rescue teams quickly began extrication efforts upon arrival.
Medics on scene provided immediate care to the injured once they were freed from the vehicle. A variety of injuries were reported, and at least one individual was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The extent of the injuries has not yet been released.
The scene remained active for an extended period as officials worked to stabilize the area, remove the vehicles, and begin an investigation into the cause of the crash. The road was temporarily closed during the response.
Authorities have not confirmed what led to the collision, and it remains under review.
