Gerry, NY (February 2, 2026) – A serious accident involving two vehicles claimed the life of a woman and left others with a variety of injuries on Sunday evening in the Town of Gerry. The collision occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on January 31 along Route 60, prompting a response from local emergency services and law enforcement.
According to authorities, two passenger vehicles were involved in the crash under circumstances that remain under investigation. Chautauqua County emergency crews arrived at the scene to assist, while paramedics worked to care for those injured in the collision. A 66-year-old woman suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident. Two occupants of the second vehicle were seriously hurt and received medical attention before being transported for further treatment.
Route 60 experienced traffic disruptions as responders secured the area and focused on patient care. The roadway remained impacted for a period of time while emergency personnel completed their work and investigators began documenting the scene.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the events leading up to the crash. Additional details have not yet been released.
