Glendale, AZ (January 3, 2026) – A tragic crash involving two SUVs left one person dead and five others injured early on Friday morning in Glendale, according to local authorities.
The collision occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on January 2 along 59th Avenue near Bethany Home Road. Glendale police reported that both vehicles were traveling southbound on 59th Avenue when one SUV rear-ended the other. The impact caused the striking SUV to roll over and crash into the patio of a nearby restaurant.
A bystander in the area was also caught in the crash and later pronounced dead at a hospital. The five individuals inside the overturned SUV were transported to area hospitals with injuries. Their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed. The driver of the second SUV was not injured in the crash.
