How Fire Investigations Proceed After a Fatal House Fire
When a fatal house fire occurs, investigators work to determine how and where the fire started. They often examine burn patterns, electrical systems, and potential ignition sources within the home.
The structure itself can provide clues about how quickly the fire spread. Damage to walls, ceilings, and entry points may help show the path of the flames and smoke. Items inside the home are also reviewed to identify possible causes.
In cases involving fatalities, victims are usually transported to a forensic facility for identification. Medical and forensic findings can help confirm identities and determine the cause of death as part of the overall review process.
