Greene, MO (January 13, 2026) – A rear-end collision north of Springfield on Monday afternoon left one man injured and required emergency medical transport, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 3:10 p.m. on Route H, approximately three miles north of the city. Authorities reported that a 2011 Volvo Q5, driven by a 54-year-old man from Halfway, was slowing for stopped traffic when it was struck from behind by a 2008 Toyota Sequoia. The Toyota was being operated by a 49-year-old Bolivar resident who was also heading northbound.
As a result of the impact, the Volvo sustained moderate damage and had to be towed by Henry’s Towing. The Toyota had minor damage and was driven away from the scene. The driver of the Volvo was wearing a seat belt and suffered injuries. He was transported by Mercy Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for further treatment. The other driver was not injured.
Trooper J.L. Cleeton led the on-scene investigation into the incident. Authorities have not indicated whether any citations were issued, and the cause remains under review.
