Hampton, VA (January 2, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash that occurred late Thursday night in Hampton has been confirmed as fatal, according to the Hampton Police Division. The collision took place near the intersection of Floyd Thompson Dr, Klich Dr, and Commander Shepard Blvd around 11:00 p.m. on January 1.
Emergency responders, including Hampton Fire and Rescue and multiple law enforcement units, rushed to the scene following reports of a serious crash involving several vehicles. Upon arrival, responders discovered at least one person suffering from fatal injuries. Other individuals involved in the crash sustained injuries of varying severity, and paramedics provided care on site before transporting those in need of further treatment.
Authorities closed down the surrounding area for several hours to allow for accident reconstruction and investigation. Commander Shepard Blvd and nearby access points were temporarily blocked to secure the crash site and allow responders to conduct a detailed scene assessment.
